Being a boy these days can be tough.

There’s peer pressure, trying to figure out what it means to ‘be a man’, body hair, deeper voices, the onslaught of social media and just trying to fit in.
If that wasn’t enough to deal with, being a boy with autism or a developmental issue can make these issues even more challenging.

This is why we created Being Boys

    This program will focus on a range of topics relevant to boys who are nearing, or are in the early puberty years – such as;

    • the body changes that boys and girls go through during puberty.
    • understanding of the reproductive system
    • personal hygiene and self care
    • hormonal changes of puberty – and how these can affect us physically and emotionally.
    • navigating friendships, peer pressure and ‘being a man’

    Being Boys is our puberty education program for boys with autism, aged 8 to 12.

    This program is suitable for boys who are nearing, or are in the early puberty years and want help to navigate the tricky changes that their bodies are exhibiting.

    Any new or existing clients to Bloom Wellbeing will need to contact our office to express their interest in the group and discuss next steps to ensure they are placed in the correct program to see them flourish.
